Director Jennifer Bowman believes that performing often is the key to improving performance skills. Students have the opportunity to perform much more than just once or twice a year through ample performance opportunities such as performance classes, master classes, festivals, adjudications and formal recitals. Performing in public allows each student to develop skills such as poise, dealing with pressure, stage presence, appropriate attire, focusing on the task at hand, and speaking in public. These skills are extremely valuable not just for musical experiences, but because they transfer to many other situations the student will encounter in life.

Instruments

Quality instruments are essential to the success of any musician. It is impossible to learn the nuances and colors of the piano if you do not have an excellent instrument on which to experience them. Therefore, all instruments at the Olympia Piano studio for private piano lessons are designed by Steinway & Sons, which are the choice of 98% of pianists worldwide.  Group piano lessons take place on state of the art Roland digital pianos.

Director Jennifer Bowman handles all business aspects of the lessons in a professional fashion. Opportunities

Students are welcome to prepare and participate in as many extracurricular musical activities as are appropriate for their age and level.  The studio hosts frequent recitals, and students are encouraged to participate in competitions, master classes, festivals, and other events.  Participation in such projects hones goal-setting skills as well as improves performance techniques.
